Joe, maybe AD will chime in on if debit cards get rewards. I don't have a debit card so I don't know for sure. It might depend on the bank that issues the card.

OT - J P Morgan/Chase offers a Debit Card that earns frequent flyer miles on United Airlines, that is the only debit card, that I know of that offers rewards.
