(Edit): Oh I see. The current Seagate FDE.2 version does not provide for accessing the TPM to retrieve the password in the pre-boot state, correct? I already knew that the current version FDE.2 does not use the TPM in any way, so my question was asking something I already knew I guess...lol! So apparently the next Seagate FDE version will allow access to the TPM in pre-boot...is this your understanding? I believe this is the case, and here is where we see the advantage of Wave's ongoing collaboration with Seagate. Wave participates in the design phase with Seagate and thus already builds the future Seagate capabilities into their tools ahead of other third party vendors doing so.

So iyo does this mean the drive's password will be more secure in a TPM than in the drive itself?
