VDTI: good "story stock" pick by Bill P. & then orchestrated news & massive email pump campaign by "eXplosivestocks.com"...not even registered with them yet got bout 20+ emails last few days. pure pumping on a "news story" stock that worked nothing more nothing less. IMHO it's cooked...stick a fork in it...glad folks made money on it :) but feel bad for the bagholders :(

REA: WR Hambrecht Keeps REITs at Neutral

WR Hambrecht pointed out that REIT performance has been stronger than expected in 2003, though in-line with their Neutral rating due to relative performance slightly ahead of large caps but behind small-cap stocks. The firm continues to rate REITs at Neutral, as still-healthy dividend yields and an impending economic upturn should attract capital to the sector. They added that the issues facing California are significant and daunting, but not overwhelming. Near-to-mid term issues are likely to cause the state to lag a national recovery, but the potential for a number of "Next Gen" industries and the broad diversity of the Southern California economy will serve the state well longer-term.

In the meantime, WR Hambrecht added, the state's demographic diversity and the recent new surge in political populism will challenge the political leadership. Consumer-based real estate (Industrial, Multifamily, and Retail) should benefit and do well. Corporate-based real estate (Office) will face difficulties, in our opinion.
