and since Microsoft tried to do an end-around on TCPA and used palladium to get out in front of the TCG, you can be damn sure they will still be playing in this area. They just may not need to control it or dominate it with their own efforts. Maybe they don't need to develop a whole operating system for it, just extensions. And instead of delays or waiting for the whole enchilada, it can be realized now with minor changes.
Might TCG be implemented on equal footing with all members? Each company leverages TPMs according to what they bring to bear using them. Microsoft already has Windows Media player and "Janus" and Rights Management and file and folder encryption, etc.
