The latest data I have seen on this was:
hammer $82
Barton $46
P4EE $59
P4 $42
all on 130nm, data from microprocessor reports.
I suspect the package and test cost for hammer is only 20% or so greater than barton, but I do believe the die cost is probably 3x.

Good thing that 130nm A64's command a huge price premium over Athlon XPs, then.

And of course, with Newcastle, silicon cost is 75% of 1MB parts.

I guess the follow-up question would be is the delta in the ASP for the K8 greater than the delta in the COGS. I assume your 2x - 2.5x is somwhere between $25-$50. Given that AMD is not production limited, it would seem like it makes sense to maximize profits.
