Bobs, I don't think it has anything to do with INTC not wanting to abuse its’ monopoly position, as far as I can tell INTC does it all the time.

That's the misconception that gives AMD and the 'Droids something to complain about every single year since the release of the 8086. Had Intel truly wanted to abuse its monopoly position, AMD would have gone the way of Netscape years ago.

LOL, ahhhh the x-files generation. Trust no one, they are
probably aliens in disguise.

Unfortunately, for INTC, AMD has managed a miracle and Easter like resurrected itself from the dead.

The religious imagery is hardly accidental. Some AMD
fans demonstrate the strongest blind faith and misguided
devotion possible short of strapping on explosive belts.
I feel like asking if they have lit the candles in their Dirk
Meyer shrine yet or put on their "Ruiz saves" bumper
sticker.

Of course you've got to admire the raw tenacity of people
who can stomach 13 straight quarters of losses without
losing faith. Or breaking out the kool-aid plus. :-P
