00...I think the overall speculation was that IDCC probably had to isue the 8K being they are in the middle of a buback. I don't think they can have any "Insider advantage" inj buying shares if this news is pending

e500, You asked, " but has anyone posted any theories as to why the company released this news today rather than wait to announce a signed deal."

Here's my theory, With the decision we got Thursday today might have been a blood bath if the company wouldn't have provided this 8-K.

My hat's off to management for stepping up to the plate to support the share price. Considering they have never done anything like this before to me it's obvious they have Nokia by the short hairs and are well on the way to announcing some type of settlement.

The final blessing came from Nokia's PR department by acknowledging settlement is on the way. How is that not good?

My WAG is we might see this thing settled before 04/11 and Samsung's legal department should be knocking on the door saying we licensed in 1995 and Nokia licensed in 1999 so we should get the best deal. Amazing to me that a broker friend thinks ERICY is close. We made a bet today as to who will sign first ERICY or Samsung. I see no pressure at all on ERICY although there's a need for them to sign for 3-G.

To me Samsung has a huge liability for 2-G which according to our CFO two CC's ago has risen to 185-195 million so IDCC could reduce that amount for a 3-G license. On the other side of the coin ERICY is paid up for 2-G and can sit and wait.

It's been a long haul for some but IMO the fun starts now. IMO after the Nokia/Samsung settlement it will bring about the baby Qualcomm comments again as well as other comments by CNBC and the business world. It will be at that time other major brokerage firms will have to cover IDCC because of their involvement in one of the fastest growing technologies and between Nokia/Samsung/LG the world market share is close to 65%.

Maybe DannyDetail who has a great understanding of how Wall Street works would help us out and let us know how the analysts from the big firms will look at this and how long will it take for them to digest this and react?
