I wrote email to congress persons a while back. I suspect their reaction on first review was skepticism (Everyone else has had that first impression). So, we are trying to get at least grass roots level of awareness and concern going before trying politics again.

We have an article coming out (not in a major paper) within a couple of days. The good Dr. M was interviewed and provided editing comments for the article before we sent it to press. I expect a positive reaction and we will have something published that we can traffic to Infectious Desease Specialists and others. Every hospital has an Infectious Disease Specialist and their opinion carries great wieght. We have found them open to discussion.

At this point it looks like the Major Pharmaceutical and the media are in bed together. My personal feeling about what I saw on TV is that the Pharm is trying to blackmail the US people for 600 million in funding and the media whores are being well paid to cover it for them. (Now, don't you think statements like that would get a congressman's door slammed in my face?). I am not the best person to talk to politicians or media, but I am trying to educate people who would be.

I would have been supportive of the Pharmaceutical company's trial if not for what they did this week (The TV coverage of their intent to pull their trial unless they get govt funding).
