Swingtrading isn't for everyone, you are right, but we do talk about longer term plays and and some of our "swing trades" are multi-month. If nothing else, if you have a play, drop it on by! You don't have to be a swingtrader to share!
I do short stocks, but not often in this bull market and usually when I do I just buy puts for bigger caps so my risk is very little. For example, I bought some TASR puts today - a joke amount. Some of the people on Swing like to buy QQQ puts to hedge their bets.
