Bobs, AMD still has had periods where it was extremely profitable.

The last "extremely profitable" period was 2000. 2002 and 2003 more than wiped out the profits of 2000 and 2001.

Funny how Mr. Market seems to see something in AMD that makes it more valuable than the company with the monopoly.

Maybe that has everything to do with relative valuations and volatility? Seems like if Mr. Market agreed with your views, AMD would be the one with a P/S ratio of 5.89 and INTC's would be 1.68.

Of course, the bottom line is whether YOU make money, and of course, swing-traders can make loads of money on AMD stock. Of course, the reason why AMD swings so much is because their entire history has been one of teetering between bankruptcy and lavish profitability.
