#30525 RE: Tenchu #30523

So many posts on here are about the past - AMD and INTC's past and past exchanges between posters. The working assumption seems to be that one has to take sides between AMD and INTC.

I am invested in AMD because I think it will make more money for me in the next 6-12 months than any other stock. I could care less about the distant past or the distant future of either companies.

The last time I invested in AMD, in 1993, was on the overnight recommendation of the Merril Lynch specialist. I lost money on it immediately and wrote off the loss. This time I am doing my own due dilligence. (I have made lots of money on Intel in the past but think its share price will be moribund for anything up two years from here on in.)

I appreciate this thread. I enjoy the sharp exchanges when they are intelligent and focussed on analysis of the current and future technology and the investment merits of AMD versus Intel and other companies. The "I told you so" stuff is not so enjoyable. Some of it is downright tedious.

It's all about relative value. I'm in no way turned off by high Beta stocks, in fact I like them because if you know what's happening you can position yourself to take advantage of the lack of knowledge of others. The problems is that there are few volatile stocks, unlike AMD, where you can find out the sort of information needed.

I follow about 25 tech stocks at any one time and AMD as well as M-Systems(Flsh) have been my big money makers since the big slide.
