#13684 RE: worktoplay #13679

My sister emailed me what the handout said:

Company description:
DNAPrint genomics, Inc. is a genomics company focusing on four market segments:1) Genealogy Consumer market with ANCESTRYbyDNA and paternity testing purchased by customers to help them determine their BioGeographical Ancestry (BGA)
2) Forensics with DNA Witness , a presumptive crime scene DNA test used by detective to help identify crime scene donor DNA (two high-profile cases include the Louisiana Serial Killer and the Concord, California case).,
3)Pharmacogenomics, a testing procedure that allows physicians to identify which patients are most likely to respond or not to a particular drug treatment: current interests include Taxol and derivatives, Statins, ACE inhibitors, and others, and
4) Commercial genotyping using Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP) technology.

The company was listed on the OTC BB stock exchange under the symbol DNAP in 2000 and has just completed a financing round with La Jolla Cove investors for $8 million. The company has filed several key patents on its underlying technology of SNP screening using Ancestry Informative Markers (AIMS) that are inherited and allows the company to employ this technology across its wide range of market applications.

Partnerships sought:

The company is seeking partnerships in all three market segments: genealogy, forensics, and pharmacogenomics. The partner should bring technologies that add to the company's current SNP technology to complement its SNP technologies. We are especially interested in pharmaceutical products where early determination of patient profiles will increase drug treatment efficacy and reduce side effects. Additionally, we are seeking approved drug manufactureres and marketers to collobarate on focusing an already approved drug into specific genetic market segments. Additionally, we are interested in forensic applications that can be used in conjunction with our SNP technologies to help identify victims and perpetrators of violent crime. Our genealogy interest includes access to novel databases of DNA across the world and development of the genetic family tree that complements the current paper trail constructed by genealogists of the family tree.
