"Phase 2: The Wekusko Lake program is located approximately 354 miles North West of Winnipeg, in a very promising diamond exploration area, where the only kimberlite dyke was found in 1992. The geophysical work is nearing completion. Drilling is projected to begin approximately the middle of April, depending on the availability of equipment and on weather conditions."

This is a very interesting discovery by Falconbridge which was followed up about ten years ago by CRA which later was bought out by Rio Tinto. The drill site geologist who resides in Winnipeg was South African and recognized the ore as kimberlite immediately as he had a great deal of experience in Botswana previously with Falconbridge. Several companies later tried to intersect the narrow dyke but were unable to do so even when twinning the hole. The discovery predates all the Saskatchewan and NWT discoveries. The dyke aspect is important because they tend to occur on the outskirts of fields and I believe another OTC company has the majority of the obvious targets staked.
