I agree my friend. Hopefully, posting your concern can open up discussion and help find an answer.

Nice! Made me laugh.

It does seems like E-trade has some internal problems. Sorry I don't have any good advice for you. The DTC issue is not a dead horse as much as many people want to say it is. It is an ongoing problem.

And people wonder why I get fed up with this board.

Because simply put IMO and based on my most recent experience E-trade has no issue accepting HMGP certs.

Perhaps you need to get an E-Trade manager that way you can get someone at a higher authority involved or make sure that you are filling out the cert the proper way.

One problem with E-trade can be the low level people that work the customer service end. That I have found to be an issue in the past with E-trade

gtv, I'm not exactly sure what you did or how you filled out your cert but I do know it needs to be pretty much exactly correct or they won't take it. You basically need to give E*Trade the "legal" right to have and "manipulate" (if you want to call it that. LOL!) your certificate.

When you call them you may get some 'canned' type answer from the customer service rep who likely doesn't know the exact problem. Anyway, what I have done on this stock and other stocks I've owned is this: There is probably something near the top which reads "For Value Received, ________". You can leave this blank. The several lines for your name and address must be filled out with your name and address. Then, the 4th line of this address area really isn't for an address! On the very right of this super long line is the word "shares". You must put the number of shares here that is printed on the front of the certificate. Don't ask me why when it is printed on the front of the certificate but you do! :) Then for the blank between "irrevocably constitute and appoint _____ Attorney to transfer the said stock..." you need to put this: E-Trade Securities LLC. Then you must date it and sign it. If you didn't do exactly as I described above, this may be the reason you are having problems. Good luck!
