It was actually walked down 65% on $1500 of volume in 5 minutes

why do you think they did that, when just a minute prior the Bid was 0.04, ASK was 0.045 and 0.04 had printed?

what was their reasoning for bringing it down when this stock wanted to run and could have easily closed at 0.10 if they let it

I believe what has happened is several things.

1)The stock has obviously been falling off slowly for a long time
2)The price spike yesterday created pretty damn good volume and it moved on air.
3)The relatively low float enables that to happen.
4)The MM's realized that there is going to be a SERIOUS play in this stock and needed to keep it down to cover their shorts that they haven't had to worry about previously
5)They walked it down on almost no shares. 5-10K share blocks driven at the bid.
6)The shorts were covering their AZZEZZZ OFF!!! Notice all the mirror trades?? They are covering and running scared!!!
7)I believe the spike was driven because th company may finally have their act together. Word is out on the street and the MM's know this was their last and best chance to cover
