You are saying that GTEM has never implied or used the terms "untethered tests" and "stratospheric"?

I think that they assumed that once they finished the previously highly touted "tethered" tests of the S2....that the UNTETHERED tests would have naturally followed.

Also, the STRATELLITE implies a "stratospheric" airship. That was the intended realm of operation for the S2, was it not?

I for one would really like to know whom GTEM thinks it is kidding with this news release. These terms were certainly heavily implied with the building schedule and intended purpose of the S2. Now we have TAO, who has not (as far as I can discern) ever produced a high altitude ship to date either. Why should TAO be able to suddenly wave a magic wand and....WALLAH! Here is the airship you need for the 21st century!!

Where is the big reason here to shout gleefullly to the moon?

Runandadd has it correct and it's unfortunate that those who are excited about it cannot see the facts....that this is indeed sounding like the same old-same old. Another forward looking Rah-Rah-Rah type news release form GTEM.
