As a software developer, I can assure you that managers all over the country believe that you can throw some specs together, send it to India, and get back a fully functional working product in 1/10th the time and for 1/20th the cost of development in the good ole USA.
It pleases me to no end that this has been proven wrong yet again. It may work eventually, but there has to be someone stateside to hammer out all the kinks and really see if the thing works. I spend a lot of time doing just that. You don't get turnkey software offshore.
