Short version is, I went to my parents in Illinois Dec.11 after my father was hospitalized on the 10th. As YOU know better than most, when Mama calls for help, we jump. We ended up placing my father in a nursing home due to rapid physical decline and
alzheimers. Mom just couldn't care for him at home any longer.
SO, after a rather grim Christmas, I came back to L.A. Dec. 28th. With weather delays, a 5 hour trip took 17 hours plus. After that I just layed low for most of January, helping mom via phone.
I'm out from under the mental bed-covers now and doing much better, as is my mother. Going back in March for 2 weeks to help her with their taxes and to help her sort out finances.
On a lighter note, I'm half-heartedly looking for a job. I'd like to help get us out from under some of our debt.
I'd LOVE an update on this group.........at least the high-lights.
