#11672 RE: valorie #11667

Good morning valorie..When I was growing up in east Tennessee in the 50's and 60's, I cant really recall anyone that didnt go to church and the majority of them went both Sunday morning and night. And there was always a good turn out for Wednesday night prayer meeting. Now im not saying that all the folks were born-again believers but if I recall correctly most were. Now in a short 35 years or so there have been folks move in from all over the country and even though the small towns havent become cities they have grown much larger than I would have ever thought they would. Yes how time has made a change!

More churches have sprung up or have enlarged from building on and a good many folks go to them. Of course most of the small churches are still there but have shrunk in size as far as people. Most of the younger crowd wants to go to the newer churches that are more hip if you will. The older churches are more of the older folks that still like the worship time as it has always been. I guess whatever floats your boat as long as the word / Bible is what is truly being taught....

The thing is...If you look at all the farmers that lived there when I was growing up there was really a good many folks, they were just scattered out more. Today farms have been sold and houses built as it seems that less people are retiring to Florida and are moving to east Tn. and west N.C. and a lot of folks are just moving out of the cities. The mountain area I grew up hasnt increased in population a lot but it has started.

Today however, if you look at the amount of people that are living there as opposed to the amount of people that are going to church of any kind....It is unbelievable how many folks are looking at the world on Sunday instead of God and Church. Now as I have said, these 2 areas are becoming a melting pot of people from all over and that brings many different beliefs and ways of worship into this once backwoods way of life.

Now 1st of all let me clear one thing up. Im not not knocking everyone for not being in church...I believe some people are true believers but they have to work Sundays..or care for someone..or have looked for a good Bible teaching church and gave up looking...I think some people have gotten fed up with the politics...if you will...in some churches. There is a lot of reasons that some people dont go to church. I know we as Christians / believers..we are the body of Christ and the Lord wants us to congregate in church with each other....Is it absolutely necessary...well im not going to go down that path right now but would look forward to everyones thoughts.

satan is on a tear in the world today just as he has always been...the thing is, that there is just so many people today for him to clamp onto. So many lost souls living in sin and making the world a filthy place and so few believers to do anything. I think thats why it is so important for each of us as believers to take a stand in this wicked nation of the United States and do something....as long as it is Godly and Spirit filled...just do it....

The mission field of the United States....If I can only witness to one person a week...if I can only plant one seed each week....If I can smile at everyone and say hello and mention the name of Jesus every chance I get...If all true believers will do this...the mission field here in the USA will get smaller as we help Jesus claim some of this country back.

Sorry valorie..I think I might have once again drifted off track from what I started to say...I do that sometimes if you havent noticed..LOL....You have a great day my friend!
