#11629 RE: tenac #11628

I have had great difficulties sorting out what is right for me to do and what is wrong for me to do. I have a problem with the poor and homeless who choose to live that way and make a good, tax free income from pan handling. Yet in my heart of hearts I know there is a real need...how can distinquish...
When I know I am going to be asked for a handout, I take a moment and ask God, "do I or Do I not". If I feel a tug or the Holy Spirit directing me to give...I give. Another instance....I spent many yrs traveling the Highway and Byways in this country and many of times I have stopped and rendered assistance to folks with car trouble, but today we live in a society where this can be very dangerous..once again as I approach a vehicle on the road side...I ask God.." do or don't I...then follow as directed. No direction to me means keep on truck'n. Every time I have followed the bidding of the Holy Spirit I also have a short opportunity to plant a seed knowing that God will send another to water.

I like you and many others often feel that I am falling short in my walk, I have often made the calling way more than it is. I have come to learn or believe "my" greatest mission field is wherever God has put me. The line at the bank, the grocery line, my home etc.

Try this....next time you are in a line at the grocery, start whistling or humming a well known christian song..say "Amazing Grace", not loud to be over barren, just kind of pleasant....see what happens. You will be surprised at the attitude change, you will see some frowns turn to smiles....who knows you nay have others join in. Like you all were talking about, a little offering of kindness in word or deed goes a long way. The preacher may have the Sunday center spot...but..the Christian has the other 6 days to have center stage. "Faith then Works"
