I was giving the general theory behind patents in general.
More specifically, when you file a patent, you are opening up your knowledge to the world to view ... and to improve upon if they can. I am sure Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc. is doing their research and will soon have or already has something in the product pipeline every bit as good or better than Aero's technology.
