I understood your purpose. However, one can indulge in such disabusing/-abusal/-abusement/-abuseitude? with regard to EVERY industry analyst firm, including the "top tier": Forrester and Gartner. That, however, does not mean that IT buyers ignore their advice or their work products... and Aberdeen's and Yankee Group's, for that matter.

Fact: IT'S ALL PAY TO PLAY. Oh, they PRETEND otherwise. But having PAID them (all of them at one point or another) for consulting days or benefitted from a client's having paid them for a consulting engagement or webinar presentation, I have to smile. There are some boutique firms who are TRULY objective in their trend analysis and technology evaluations. But those are, for the most part, names that NO ONE has ever heard of.
