#98060 RE: nilremerlin #98046

nilremerlin, why in the world would you think...

that article has anything to do with GlobeTel?

The article clearly says...

"Industry rivals are waiting to hear if they have ousted the Boeing/Insitu ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicle..."

nilremerlin, don't you realize, GlobeTel is "not" an industry rival!!! To be a rival you have to be a competitor. GlobeTel has never been competitive with "anyone"! They have never sold an airship, they have never even built a prototype that worked. So when an article says "industry rivals", they are "not" referring to GlobeTel.

You may have missed the fact that they even listed "industry rivals" in the article...

1) Mk 4 Aerosonde
2) Aurora Flight Sciences
3) BAE Systems
4) MTC Technologies
5) Swift Engineering

Of course, as usual, GlobeTel was "not" actually mentioned in the article you posted.

The ScanEagle which is being replaced has the capability of operating in harsh weather environments, including high winds and heavy rains. Nilremerlin, have you ever seen how an airship, balloon or blimp works in "high winds"? The "real industry rivals" actually have products that "can" do the task, they are the...

1) Mk 4 Aerosonde
2) GoldenEye 80
3) Skylynx II
4) Spyhawk T-16
5) KillerBee

nilremerlin, none of those "real" products are "inflated"! They are not balloons or blimps or airships. They are fixed wing, proven technologies that the US Navy knows they can count on. The US Navy may "experiment" with a failed company like GlobeTel's failed test prototype but they would never put anything in actual operation unless they had confidence in it.

Thanks for posting the article. It demonstrates how a company that "claimed" they were years ahead of the competition* is "really" years behind them!!!

*Of course, as I pointed out, there is nothing "competitive" about GlobeTel.

imho
