i sat in several meetings prior to retiring where otellini spoke of the importance of margin dollars rather than just gross margins.

it seems the investment analysts have convinced themselves that gross margin is the only number worthy of consideration.

i think pso needs resolve this before any useful appreciation in intel can ever occur.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Intel management isn't managing the analyst's expectations very well. It seems like quarter after quarter the analysts find one variable to focus on and tear Intel apart based on that one variable (i.e. Inventory, Gross Margins, etc.)
