zxc, I don't think the DTC really cares about the trading venue, they are concerned on clearing trades, and they had a FREEZE on all venues, not to discriminate, the grey's are under the same clearing freeze as all other venues.
Maybe a different thought needs applied. If our brokers are short or don't have 106's to exchange for 205's then letting you close out your position doesn't mean someone bought what you sold. It would make no difference if I allowed you to close your 106 share position before I had to buy you 205's to cover. After all if BCIT is short this stock will be trading using two different cussips in the end. 205's being the real shares and 106's needing covered or closed. This stock will make history in corruption one way or another. All e-trade did was let Molson close a position.
