#96488 RE: lighter than AIR #96479

glow, I am not a "professional" photographer...

but I have taken thousands of photos for my own company. The thing that jumps out at me is the focus, based on the depth of field and the fact that it is a hazy day. You only get so much depth of field with any lense and setting and the ledge just doesn't look right compared to the rest of the photo in this respect if the photo was taken at a distance. The perspective just doesn't look like this was taken from a distance with a zoom lense. Also note how as you look further into the distance of the photo, it gets hazier and hazier. If the camera was a great distance from the ledge as well as the rest of the shot, the haze would be more consistent in the photo. Because the lense is so close to the ledge, it looks clear and the photo gets hazier as you look into the distance.

Now if you believe the airship was in free flight and it cruised within a few feet of this ledge to take the photo, everything makes sense, except why in the world would they do that? If you believe the airship was tethered from a short rope, right next to the ledge, the photo makes sense again. But these were supposed to be from free flight.

I think Mr Bleckman is working on a new "explanation" as we post. I can't wait to see it... probably just a "simple" mistake.

imho
