People continue to invest in the pennies thinking that they benefit from company business. They think the dollars the company brings in trickle down into their pockets or magically make a stock go up.
CMTN is the proof that it does not matter at all.
-$1,000,000 in supposed revenues did not matter at $2.80
-$1,000,000 in supposed revenues do not matter at less than a penny.
The formula is the same; put out Press Releases to attract buyers to sell stock. Private companies do business to survive, public companies put out PRs about business they plan to do/ have initiated/ projected revenues/ etc. that may or may not happen protected by Safe Harbor.
It is a WIN WIN WIN situation for the company; they keep all the money that they may generate in business, they keep all of the money that they generate selling stock, and they can stay alive forever as long as there is stock to sell to pay the bills.
People will always be attracted by the story; these companies count on it. Hopefully next time people will have the epiphany waaaayy before they are down 99%.
