Very good point! While it would be reading too much in to assume that it does away with Sammy III, if Samsung really said what the article said, then I think the odds are good that they will drop their appeal. The Judges wording about it appearing that SAM initiated the Sammy III arb only to delay the payment fits right in with that scenario. I'm hoping SAM just threw in the towel as far as the 2G moneys go.

Now, if they proceed to trial with the ITC action, they face treble damages, interest and attorney fees if they loose. With so many other things going in IDCC's favor and what appears to be better legal representation, IMO, Samsung would be nuts to proceed to an American jury trial.

A real settlement would get rid of Samsung 3.

As well as the ITC case.
