Cut the crap Pete. Intel's customers have qualified C2Ds and buy them by the many millions. OEMs are happy, customers are happy and Intel's happy. Barfelona is so broken that no major OEM will use it which is just as well because it looks like AMD can't make it either. Every CPU has errata. You know that, we know that, everybody knows that. AMD's errata is on a different level. It's a killer. If pointing out meaningless errata on C2D comforts you in light of AMD's disaster than go ahead. You might as well proudly remind us that it's a "True" Quad Core. Nobody cares. It's broken.

Intel has a bug in all Core 2 CPUs including Penryn based ones

Really? My E6700 system has never given me a speck of trouble
and is the most reliable PC I have ever owned. Not to mention
fastest and quietest.

I am a very happy Intel customer. BTW, looking at Intel's quarterly
earnings results as C2D ramped to volume it is clear that I am far
from alone in my opinion. Have a nice day in your world. In mine
it appears that AMD has set yet another 52 week low.

Pete, something you just don't get is that Intel publishes their errata without NDA, it's open for the world to see, and yet OEMs still seem comfortable shipping Intel products. That says something about the way in which these bugs manifest, that they aren't going to be exposed under real world conditions.

Now, on the other hand, AMD has an errata that has all OEMs stopping shipments, and AMD calling for an official STOP SHIP of all Barcelona products of all frequencies. Now, I guess you are oblivious to the difference here, but let me explain the obvious:

OEMs are concerned about AMD's errata, which they try to hide from consumers under NDA, but not concerned about Intel's errata, which are public information for all to see.

Now, if you are still confused, Pete, then you're going to have to get used to living in ignorance.
