I beg to differ with that conclusion as desktop cpu prices are primarily supported by their gaming performance and in that Phenom generally performs above its average performance. We shall see in due course but I believe that equality of prices between C2Q and Phenom will settle at about +100 MHz so eventually in pricing terms
Of course with Yorkfield it's more like 300 MHz so the 2.5 GHz entry 12 MB Yorkfield will be equivalent to a 2.8 GHz Phenom in pricing. Anyway you look at it AMD can start to reverse its desktop asp decline soon.
