Linear Gold Reports Progress on Southern Mexico
Exploration Programs

LRR

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--Linear Gold Corp. (LRR.V) is pleased to
report progress on four of its wholly-owned concessions in the
state of Chiapas, Mexico.

At the Motozintla project, located near the Guatemalan border 65
kilometres west of the Marlin gold deposit belonging to Glamis
Gold Corp., Linear has undertaken a soil sampling program to
identify the source of anomalous gold mineralization in stream
sediment samples. A total of 734 samples have been collected from
within the 7,755 hectare concession. Of these 734 samples, 346
contain detectable levels of gold (+5 ppb gold using 30g Fire
Assay - AA finish) and 30 samples contain between 100 ppb gold
and 972 ppb gold. The +100 ppb gold anomaly shows a continuous
geometry in two separate zones each with an extent of 600 metres
of strike length in an east-west orientation. A separate zone of
+100 ppb gold in soils is recognized for a strike length of 400
metres in an east-west direction parallel 300 metres to the
south. Anomalous values are identified at the extreme margins of
the grid, and more sampling will be required to identify the
complete strike length of the system. A drill program has been
prepared for a series of 10 reverse circulation drill holes to
test the most anomalous zones within the soil anomaly, and
environmental permitting for the drilling program is presently in
progress. The drill targets are within one kilometre of a paved
highway and the areas have excellent access and infrastructure.

At the Los Olivos concession block (1,917 hectares), located in
south central Chiapas state near the town of Mapastepec, two
parallel anomalous stream drainages have been identified with
values of 624 ppb gold and 139 ppb gold respectively from the
minus 80 mesh fraction of stream sediment sampling. Rock chip
sampling of four samples of float material from within the
principal stream drainage range in values from 0.3 to 7.2 grams
of gold per tonne and 10.3 to 476 grams of silver per tonne. A
soil sampling program is being developed to test for the source
of the anomalous mineralization in stream sediment and float
material from the extents of the drainage basins. The soil
sampling work should begin in mid-March.

At the Tenochitlan concession (1,879 hectares), located in
northwestern Chiapas, 100 kilometres southwest of the capital of
Tuxtla Gutierrez, a field crew is conducting reconnaissance
mapping, detailed stream sediment sampling and rock sampling in
order to identify the source of anomalous (650 ppb gold in minus
80 mesh fraction) stream sediment sampling. Initial mapping has
indicated a 200-metre wide regional structure with strong clay
alteration and sulphide mineralization, as well as areas of
sandstones with quartz stockwork veining and silicification.
Sampling of the areas is in progress and assays will be reported
when work is completed.

At the La Reforma concession block (5,084 hectares), located in
central Chiapas, a field crew has been mobilized to begin a soil
sampling program covering the headwaters of stream drainages
where anomalous gold was recognized in the minus 80 mesh fraction
with five out of 60 samples ranging from 100 to 1,050 ppb gold
and six out of 63 rock samples ranging in values from 100 to 444
ppb gold and 592 to 1,790 ppm copper. A porphyry style phyllic
alteration zone has been identified in the anomalous region. The
soil sampling is oriented to determine the extent and tenor of
the zone of mineralization.

All assays were performed by ALS Chemex Labs in Guadalajara,
Mexico with gold by 30g Fire Assay - AA finish and base metals by
ICP, and the information was compiled, interpreted and supplied
by Mr. Philip Pyle, M.A., Linear's Vice President of Exploration
for Central America.
