Linear drills three holes in San Isidro

Mr. Philip Pyle reports

LINEAR GOLD REPORTS PROGRESS ON IXHUATAN DRILL PROGRAM

Linear Gold has completed four drill holes to test the San Isidro zone at its Ixhuatan project in Chiapas, Mexico. The San Isidro zone is one of five previously recognized soil anomalies with values ranging from 100 to 1,490 parts per billion gold. Drilling is targeting specific gold anomalies in outcrop rock sampling and induced polarization chargeability anomalies within the San Isidro zone over an area of 750 metres by 750 metres.

Assay results from the first two holes have been received and indicate disseminated gold and copper mineralization with contained higher grade intervals as follows:

Hole From To Thickness Gold Copper
(in metres) (g/t) (per
cent)

1 40 130 90 0.2 0.08

incl. 40 42 2 3.9 1.97

2 10 66 56 0.5 0.15

incl. 32 42 10 1.7 0.56

Holes 1 and 2 were drilled 50 metres apart on the extreme northern margin of the San Isidro soil anomaly in a zone of outcropping hydrothermal breccias. Gold mineralization is hosted both within hydrothermal breccias and in andesitic composition volcanic breccias exposed within the core. Holes 3 and 4 targeted the central portion of the soil anomaly 200 metres and 300 metres respectively to the southeast of the site of hole 1, and have recognized similar hydrothermal and volcanic breccias with increased levels of silicification and disseminated pyrite mineralization. Assays from holes 3 and 4 are pending and will be released when available. Hole 5 is planned 550 metres southeast of the site of hole 1 testing an induced polarization chargeability anomaly associated with the contact of the volcanic complex and surrounding older limestones. A location map of the drill holes can be obtained at Linear's Web site at www.lineargoldcorp.com.

Assay results have been received from additional soil sampling on the Ixhuatan project to fill in previously unsampled areas between the four other anomalous zones outside of the San Isidro anomaly. Initial assay results from the new soil sampling indicate anomalous gold values with 35 out of 102 samples containing values ranging from 100 to 9,700 parts per billion (9.7 grams per tonne) gold, three of which are in excess of one gram of gold per tonne.

As a result of the thickness of the zones of anomalous gold mineralization identified in holes 1 and 2, the alteration vectors observed from the margins to the centre of the San Isidro anomaly, and the newly identified soil anomalies, Linear has decided to increase its drilling program from the originally planned five holes to a minimum of 10 holes at the Ixhuatan project.

The initial drilling results suggest a large-scale disseminated gold-copper system with the potential for high grades near the surface. The new soil sampling results as reported above are the highest values obtained so far on the project and suggest multiple mineralized centres and previously unknown targets within Linear's Ixhuatan property.

All assays were conducted by ALS Chemex in Guadalajara, Mexico, by 30-gram digestion fire assay-AA finish for gold and ICP for base metals.
