#92980 RE: Mr Allan #92979

Mr. Allan, considering all the important tests, they "didn't" do...

I wonder if this is why the company didn't make a bigger deal out of this back when it happened?

I guess they knew the truth would eventually come out!

Of course, that's never stopped them before.

Mr Allan: Hotzone units are built to military standards to begin with, so passing a threat mitigation survey by an IA team would pretty much be a given:

Key Features

Modular design
Built to military standards
Advanced traffic shaping (QoS)
Any combination of frequecies (900MHz, 2.4GHz, 2.5GHz, 2.6GHz, 3.5GHz, 4.9GHz, 5GHz)
DECT (1880-1930MHz), VoIP
LOS, NLOS operation
Up to 30 miles LOS
Scalable solutions
Outstanding RF performance and frequency flexibility

High Speed Wireless Quartet
The Trimax 4010 four radio backhaul, repeater, access point &
Hotspot Stations feature a combination of four frequency
configurable radios and two DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless
Telecommunications) radios in a single outdoor housing.
4010 Radio Gateways are designed for network operators
looking to deploy state of the art systems that provide the
highest level of security
flexibility and performance, while supporting carrier class QoS requirements needed for
VoIP, Video and other latency critical network data. Using its
comprehensive set of IP services, the 4010 Radio Series

Mr Allan, you left off the final sentence of the summary:

Executive Summary

Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration’s (CWID) Assessments Working Group (AWG), Information Assurance (IA) Team performed a high-level assessment Trial 6.42, HotZone 4010/4020 (HZ4010). This trial implemented mechanisms to provide assurance that the information processed by the vendor’s product was secure. These mechanisms appeared to be appropriate given the level-of-data and operating environment of the trial.

Information Assurance clearly looks for things that Hotzone does not include. It is a commercial product. It could have the military security built in with microcoding but it isn't currently in the product, so why submit to such a test?
