I only put my play money here, but have made a substantial amout of money, especially in the last 2 weeks. But this is a game, and you goota play by the rules, trouble is, no one knows the rules. Be careful, don't invest your mortgage money, and be prepared for high risk or high rewards, no guarantees here.

You trade penny stocks. For investments look toward metals particularly gold and silver for longterm holds for your nest egg that you don't have to worry about and babysit.

Your best investment during bad times is often to try to keep yourself EMPLOYED - a JOB is a MAJOR asset during recessions or depressions. Another is to examine what you spend money on NOW and cut back and save that money for the bad times. You can put it into maybe gold coins (new ones - with no numismatic value like Gold Kugarants). Gold is the major hedge agaisnt INFLATION if that happens. Government jobs often are good to have during recessions. Pay off credit NOW.... not later. Utilities are said to be stable investments during bad times. I think for Deflation (Depression) that a JOB is the number one asset or if you are independently wealthy with a hord of gold coins then you will probably be ok.

Owning a home _ morgage free - is a major asset during depressions. BUT you will need to pay property taxes to keep it. The reason why a JOB is so important is that the MONEY SYSTEM could drastically change in a depression and if someone has wealth it may not mean anything cuz it could take a truck load of dollars to buy bread. BUT, a job will pay for the labor in the NEW MONEYSYSTEM that exists at any given time so you should be albe to buy bread easily if you are employed.

Precious metals offshore (Swiss banks etc), barterable goods and a workable skill set that is in demand will help depression proof you as much as possible.

If everything truly goes in the $hitter, which it certainly appears to be headed for, the gov't will freeze assets and martial your precious metals for their own use.
