A new install of the OS will give you the option of reformatting prior to the install. Also, hard drives are cheap. You may want to consider replacing it instead of spending too much tiome goofing with it.

May I ask why you would be reformatting? Ace Utilities will clean up a drive and usually keeps it clean enough not to have to ever reformat.
