#30750 RE: See Shasta #30747

I lived in Dublin for over a year (my family is Irish) and I had a car while there and travelled all over. What I loved was all the old untouched ruins just lying around neglected in the farmers' fields (go to the local priest to get the keys to enter), but the peninsula of Kerry I loved. My favorite day trip was up to the ancient celtic cemetery outside Dublin beyond the peat bogs high in the Wicklow Mountains at Glendalough where all those famous celtic crosses and the bell tower are. The Angle-Irish are a tightknit group in Ireland, and my boyfriend knew Paddy Guinness (heir to the Guinness brewery fortune) at the time so I was often at the Guinness family castle at Leixlip -- it is one of the few remaining ancient castles still inhabited today.
