#8119 RE: Telephonics #8118

I actually had one of these calls a couple of years ago. They were also looking for me to verify my 'password' with them to make sure it was the correct person they were talking to. Along with the rest of the BS during the call. They were very slick about the whole thing.

However, I refused to give them any information or verification of even my address. I told them if they were calling me at my house then they already had that information.

I called VISA to let them know what was going on, they said they had a number of other calls like mine and were looking into it.

VISA & MC are very good about fraud protection. When diesel hit all those high prices, they put a stop on our card until we called to ask why. They told me that most thieves will first use the card at a gas station to check if it's been stopped yet or not. Then they go from there.

The reason it hit their fraud scanners at the gas station is because the drivers use it to fill up the tractor trailers and the amounts set off their fraud limits. The fill ups were over $450.

Thanks for the "heads up". I'm passing it on to others.

I know VISA is serious about fraud as I got a call from them once concerning, "Did you just buy a computer at _ _ ?"
Well, I am using it right now to type this, but it is nice to know they are watching.
