There are better components available.
In the past, as with most other companies developing products, decisions were made as to what was 'good enough' for product performance vs cost. The necessitity was to select parts based on cost rather than performance. Small quantity = large cost per unit so 'standard' components were the only ones justified. Higher resolution, brighter and a larger field of view inside the visor was always too cost prohibitive.
There is a huge new potential for uses by security forces. They bring additional resources and product expectations. I hope management will now justify the additional expense necessary and move up to the next level of reality. They need to invest in the future today.
This should also allow like improvements to exhisting product offerings at a reduced per unit cost. Only the very best of the best products will win this war.
