Harvard Learning Centers Announces Changes in Name and Stock Symbol

Sep 24, 2007 16:00:43 (ET)

BOCA RATON, FL, Sep 24, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- The Harvard Learning Centers, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HVLN) (the "Company") announced today that it had amended its Articles of Incorporation to change its name to "The Americas Learning Centers, Inc." As a result, effective September 25, 2007, the new trading symbol of the Company's common stock on the Pink Sheets will be (PINKSHEETS: ALCI).

Donald Platten, president and chairman of the board, stated, "'The Americas Learning Centers' name allows us to better coalesce the brand positioning of our test preparation services with those targeting the physical development and fitness of today's youth. Clearly, a focus on 'The Americas' provides a broader name appeal than our old name allowed, and we think, as we evolve and introduce our products and services, it will facilitate a much better understanding of our multi-year strategy in providing products for the development of both the mind and body."
