What if I decide the day before to order my own cert because I want to use it as a table mat.

You have a table?

I'm not saying you can't order your own cert, I've done it. Let me give you an example of how AMTD now TDAMTD has operated.I can only speak for TDAMTD but I suspect that other online brokers do the same.
OK. 10 people buy 501 shares of MXES through TDAMTD. tdamtd lumps them all together and requests 5010 shares from the TA or DTC, where ever they get them from. tdamtd is issued a cert in "streeet name" for 5010 shares. they pass out the 501 shares to there 10 peop that bot. at this point I am not a scert holder. tdamtd is the cert holder, I am a shareholder.now the 1-1000 rs happens as it always does first, us 10 peop get rs'd to a fraction (.5). tdamtd's cert ( in street name) gets rs'd to 5 shares. now the roundup comes. tdamtd cert of 5 shares now gets rounded up to 500 shares, so now they got 500 shares and 10 peop that are rexpecting 500 shares. they don't have them. you don't get em
now, if you want to request certs, fine, I wouldn't be doing it in multiple accounts that have the same EXACT name on them.
