Zen, you may be right about Hitachi. We have not heard about any of their FDE wins. However, from what I've understood, there is no one else that currently provides Wave like functionality. They do not have central management/access control, proof of encryption and audit trail.
While I don't expect HP in the next few weeks, I'm sure they are a lock to offer FDE sometime in 2008 if FDE from Dell is as big a hit as we've been led to believe by Wave.
Why would HP blow their lead if they have been UpToDate, From the Beginning, Very Aware of What Wave Is Doing. As someone Posted Earlier " cosign,, back in 99 or 2000, was at wedding rehearsal dinner and was seated at table of eight that included Michael Dell and his wife; although very nice guy, and down to earth for a billionaire, I asked him about WAVE SYSTEMS and he had not heard of us. So ,, things are looking up and headed in the right direction."
