New Wave, I think the HP SafeBoot bundle may be a basic version of some SafeBoot product and if the enterprise is interested they can upgrade to an enterprise version and that is where SafeBoot gets more revenue. So it may be a more a case of enterprise wins for SafeBoot on the upgrades than enterprise wins for HP on the sale of the PCs. HP would sell the PCs anyways, although I suppose the SafeBoot bundle could help HP get some enterprise sales wins on the PCs.

Ispro might know how the SafeBoot bundle works. It might also be a full version of the SafeBoot product bundled and the customer gets a free trial period. After the trial period expires they either pay for the product or lose it.

NewWave.....I don´t fear competition from the software encryption guys, since HW and SW encryption can NOT be compared. Software encryption is SLOW and you have to do an initial encryption of the HOLE disc, which lasts, dependent of the capacity, up to several hours. Furthermore the installation of several applications force you to de-encrypt your disc and after installation to encrypt once again:-(

I´ve used Bitlocker with TPM on a HP DC7700 for testing purposes and I saw the FDE.2 in action on the Tarox notebooks at CeBit. Oh well, what shall I say: Everyone who tested a STX FDE.2 in conjunction with ETS will throw all other stuff out of the window!
