Unc- My take on your questions.

Due to the extremely long nature of this slog, and the way that the officers wished to keep paying themselves (Feeney, $277K?!), they had to deal with these types of people. The good news? By avoiding 'death spiral' type financing, looks like they only had to 'rent' their souls to the devil, not 'sell' them. I imagine that when and if revenues start to flow, they'll 'find God' again. I can't look at it any other way and remain invested.
