If you could learn to spell, then maybe reading will come easier. No one has claimed that the 'average real Mexcian' has $117 to spend on an internet service.

Please do your own DD. The average monthly rate for internet usage in Mexico varies based upon the service and those figures have all been provided here before, as has the information that NMC is offering internet service at a competitive rate. Again, there is plenty of information out there on the internet to answer your questions if you take time to do your own research.

And, no, Seth, I won't speculate on the current number of subscribers because I have no idea. That will depend on how much of the network is built out, marketing, and other factors. Subscriber growth metrics have also been discussed in detail on various threads on this board. Check them out.

From my experience in Mexico and Central America, I believe that the majority of Internet users are using the Internet kiosks, which have proliferated in Mexico, and can be used for as little as 25 cents for a half hour. This is very popular with Mexicans who have no computer. The cost of computers and service is a major and often prohibited expense to the average wage earner.

DetTiger- I have a friend who lives in Monterrey. They pay $19.95/ month for lousy dial-up service, because choices are seriously limited!

Detiger,

About four years ago I was in a beautiful Mexican town in the Siera Madres called Alamos. Those here from the Southwest may have visited it. A typical old colonial town with a church and square forming the center. Not sure what the per capita income of its residentsare but I would hazard to guess that's below what NMC is targeting around Mexico City.

For internet there was a small Internet Cafe. About 10 - 15 workstations. Based on the connection they were all probally sharing ONE dial-up line. The place always had someone using it. If they were willing to pay for that...........
