Dude

The Enterprise world and MSFT knew in January when it was released to wait a year until the bugs were worked out. I'll suggest that it's not an accident that Microsoft Windows Server 2008 is scheduled to be released at the end of that year --- that is February 2008.

After that it becomes a Vista world. We've waited all this time through anticipated and unanticipated delays FOR MSFT and 100,000,000 units. Guess What? With 50 million TPMs out there and 100 MILLION expected over the next 12 months... 100 million should be around February 2008. Coinkydinky.....Maybe...maybe NOT.

DigSpace writes about the price coming down...and he has his point. I'll counterpoint with the price going UP. Intel from 10 cents on a few models to a buck on a lot more. Same for STMicro. Fifty cents to a buck....lure them in and upgrade. Same for Dell fifty cents for basic hook... now Seven dollars or so. Next Eras..... EEE is unclear.... Will it be bundled with every copy of Server 08 for a dime, a buck, more or not at all.

BTW Remember each of those FDE drives with Embassy become a platform for digital signature web security -- AlaMode and signed document growth will also reach points of critical growth capability as Seagate drives become standard.

I suspect that the Dow article is going to be noticed over time by a lot of folks who want to sell Internet subscriber services in China.
