How's this for creative. Get the F--k out of the traditional robotics mode and concentrate all brainpower in one or two area's of specialization. Software being One. I understand the concept of diversification but is it working? Look at the competition, does INRA realistically have the resources to compete? Get rid of toxic financing and build on what is working.

Is repairing old robotic manufacturing bots paying the bills so R&D can sustain itself without selling it's soul to toxic financing? If not, what's the point? What about software/hardware development (as a subcontractor) with Major Defense Contractors? What about software/hardware (as a sub) for major medical device manufactures with a % of ownership of devices?

I have a friend that subed his talents for 10 years of cruse missile development. It was brainpower/software that made the money, not the mechanical side of his business. They made more money than INRA and they were a non-public 3 man show up until last year.
