With you 100%. Glad to hear at least you made it without incident. That route is my last resort if at all possible but on occasion it's the only way to go. I agree there is obviously no substitute for common sense and being on the defensive when driving any time. Where I was trying to go was a state of the art road surface may help us when others drive agressively or reduce the unneccessary stress from massive spray kicked up by tractortrailer traffic (couldn't even conceive of driving those roads on a daily basis). Anytime we can increase visabiliy and lengthen reaction time we may be able to reduce the amount and severity of accidents. Unfortunately the technology will be adopted in other parts of the US (and the world) before we get it in the NE. LOL
