SPEX did not sell their reservation business for just some third stage clinical trials. They already had enough money for that. Spex has a very large network it has been working on is my best hunch. Nutrilabs was all done in secrecy. Even the majority of shareholders do not even know about Nutrilabs.
It is very possible that SPEX will begin its distribution globally, side-stepping the United States as they wait out the FDA approval process for some of the other product lines.

If you were a diabetic! Would you order from Mexico, Canada or others, while awaiting FDA approval in the United States?

Another fact! SPEX does not need a major partner, as much, as it did before, as SPEX has money for its own network line of product distribution. Breaking into others shelf space is easier with thewm, than against them. This added cash the company now holds. Gives SPEX a greater leverage for negotiating a partner agreement. If spex makes whoopie with CREST for example, an immediate retail shelf network is available.
