I agree, if it was only 8.36% I doubt STP would even have mentioned it, talk about killing big bids on their EEZ licensing round. Its gotta be a mistake, there is to much interest from Brazil, India, China, Korea, Europeans and Americans in STP's EEZ to lead me to believe there is only an 8.36% chance from 18 prospects.

Actually it was 8,3687% so that makes 8,37%

I wonder how they can put a number so accurately on this probability, must be a couple of statistics professors working on that.

18 prospects, 8.36% divided by 18 is 0,46% per block chance of hitting oil?

How does that work?

Fishdog:

What I know about the patch is so vast, that it certainly has to be enough to fill a thimble.:) But you seem to have more experience in this sector than most on this board.....sooo. Wouldn't you agree that if there's only a possible success rate of 8.36% you pretty much aint got diddly. Never mind what anyone could refer to as potential reservoirs, let alone 18 of them. And to accentuate the point, their not only talking potential prospects, but reservoirs!

My question is, who's kidding whom here? Waddaya think?

Just my .02, Lou

Still nothing on the ANP site about Friday's Sao Tome EEZ seminar. As the sponsor, one could think they'd post up something. But zilch, three days after the event.

Perhaps, some of us could email them. I plan to. But numbers could help in yanking out a response.

Will advise,
