Wasn't familiar with HTL until you mentioned it. Based on a cursory review, they have big partners. The fact that they have a demo plant running for several years is also a plus but makes you wonder why no one has stepped up to build this process into their production plans if it works as advertised.
One holdup might be IVAN's stated philosophy of using HTL to gain ownership of heavy oil production. Maybe their sales approach involves the operator giving up a certain percentage of the WI and they are balking.
